As a birder and photographer, especially the combination of those character traits, I visit Lauwersmeer a lot. And so do a great many other birders, photographers and 'normal' people. Especially on sundays. It's absolutely necessary to visit the are, on sundays, before noon. After that it's swarming with people.
That being said, I visited the area early. And I took some pictures of Garden Warbler, Sylvia borin, Lesser Whitethroats, Sylvia curruca and Herring Gull, Larus argentatus. In fact I also took some of Linnet, Carduelis cannabina, but they were not worth the trouble of uploading (here or on Vliegend Spul).
The two pictures here are of the Herring Gull (upper), a 1st winter/summer -wich is basically the same plumage) and Garden Warbler (lower).
